My post today comes along with a song. A song that has been in my
mind for the past week as I consider my personal commitment to Jesus Christ as
my Lord and Saviour in my life!
So often we can get so quickly caught up
in what goes on, the fortune and the fame, in a way of showing what we are. We
do it in all the right reasons to: showing glory to God for the gifts He has
given us, we show off how God has materially blessed us and we forget in it all
why God really put us on planet earth in the first place. That purpose alone is
to honour and glorify Him to the best of our ability wherever He may call us,
maybe that's serving the weak and the sick in Africa, or maybe its helping the
abused and hurting in your local community, maybe its tending the sick in your
local hospital as a nurse, or overseas. It doesn't matter, wherever God has
called you to serve be Faithful.
Some of you maybe struggling to find your
place in the center of God's will. That's ok... keep praying... don't stop... Allow
God to show you where He wants you to be. And until He opens a door or directs
you some place else be faithful in serving God right here wherever you
are.
The legacy you live by serving God to the
best of your ability where He has called you is by far more of a message then
what any Pastor could get up and preach in an hour. And that my friend is
coming from a Pastor’s kid. However, by not living where God has called you it is
far more devastating then living in the middle of a war torn village.
I am leaving you today with the lyrics from the song that is
posted at the top. In hopes that you will read them again and allow them to be
your prayer!
Faithful to the Cross
VS 1: Some follow after fortune and fame
So when their gone the world will remember
their name
But I am learning that what matters more
can’t be held in my hands
And that riches aren’t the measure of the
worth of a man
It’s found in being…
Chorus: Faithful to the cross, faithful to
His Call
Laying Down my life, surrendering my all.
Forgetting what’s behind me and counting
it as loss
Faithful to the finish, faithful to the
cross.
VS 2: I want to know I ran my race, that I
fought the fight and kept the faith
And when at last I stand before the
throne,
I want to hear him say, “well done”,
That my heavenly Father would be proud of
this son,
So may my life be…
CHORUS
So let this be the legacy for those who
follow after me… I was faithful…
CHORUS
God bless you well you serve Him, wherever
He has called you to serve.
