I find it interesting
that sometime I can be inspired by book titles that I read… Books will come
along and even the outside title of the book will inspire me to sit down and
write a little blurb.
So here we go, and I
might do this again...
Learning
“the state of being
taught”
“the state of being
taught by a Higher Being”
“the state of being in
instruction”
The list could go on and
on.
What are you learning?
For me I don’t think that list would ever end because I am still learning so
much…
Learning to allow God to
have control, always.
Learning to trust God
more and more each day.
Learning to allow God to
rule every thought that passes through my mind at every minute of every day or
night.
Learning to overcome
temptation when it stares me in the face.
Learning to be strong
and courageous
Learning to find
security in Christ and not in earthly measures.
Learning to be patient
when God doesn't give me an instant directional decision
Learning to be in the
center of His Will.
The Hebrew word for
learning is leqaḥ which means to provide instruction.
The Greek word for learn is manthanō which means to learn or to
understand.
When understanding
Hebrew and Greek words it is important to note that the Old Testament was
written in Hebrew and the New Testament was written in Greek. This being said
if we think about the word "learning" in the Old Testament God,
through His writers provided instruction and although that also took place in
the New Testament, it was easier for them to learn and to understand given the
instruction of the Old Testament and Death and Resurrection of our Lord and
Saviour Jesus Christ. Just another reason why we know that the Bible is truly
the Inspired Words of God.
What can you understand,
or in past tense, what have you learned through God's Instruction in your
life?
That’s a big one for me
because yes I can sit here and go through all the things that God has and is
teaching me, but if I haven't learned anything what has it profited me. Like 2
Timothy 3:7 says that will happen in the last times, “Always learning, and never
able to come to the knowledge of the Truth." It is so easy for me to do
this. We say we have learned it, yet we turn around and do it all over again. I
pray that each one of us would take it upon ourselves to break that cycle, and
to come to the Knowledge of the Truth, and to learn the lessons that God is
trying to teach us no matter how big or small.
